Refresher Training
The Full Story
At Woody's Canine Services, we believe that every dog deserves to be well-trained and be a positive part of the family. That's why our training program is designed for all dogs, regardless of their breed or age. We teach dogs appropriate greetings, sit, stay, down, leave, and loose lead walking, ensuring they are well-behaved wherever they go. Join us for a fun-filled course and enjoy the benefits of having a well-trained dog!

We understand that each dog is unique, which is why we tailor our training programs to meet the needs of each individual dog. With plenty of space for each dog, we create a comfortable and engaging environment that encourages learning and growth. Our classes are designed to be fun but controlled, ensuring that dogs are not overwhelmed by a 'free for all' experience. Contact us today to enrol your dog and help them become the best version of themselves.

When the course has already commenced.

What if the environment is not the right fit for my dog?
Dogs are normally quite flexible in terms of their environment and it is important to expose your dog to various scenarios, this is not something that just be confined to puppies. If it is clear to the trainer on the course that your dog is not coping with the environment, then this will be discussed with you. We have various options to make dogs, who may be more nervous, to put them at ease. These will be discussed with you at the time.

Will my dog be permitted to mix with the other dogs?
Dogs will be on lead at all times with the exception of recall training however, this training will take place in a purpose made lane so that loose dogs cannot directly approach other dogs. If you wish to allow your dog to have contact with other dogs then please ensure that you ask the owner of the dog prior to allowing any approach. Dogs must be kept on a lead and you must ensure that the leads do not become tangled.

What should I bring with me?
Please bring along any treats you wish to use, your dog's lead and harness and your dog's bed or favourite towel, if you wish, though this is not essential.

Can I bring someone with me?
You are welcome to bring along anyone who lives in the household with the dog including children. Whilst we actively encourage children to get involved with training the family dog, we would also respectfully ask that children are not permitted to approach other dogs. Please ensure you bring adequate items to keep your youngster entertained to minimise disruption to the remainder of the class.

I have medical conditions, do you offer reasonable adjustments?
We are keen at Woodys Canine Services to ensure that our courses are fully accessible to everyone. If you have concerns around gaining access to our training site or if you have concerns about further support of neurodiversity issues then please contact us in advance so that we may discuss what we can do to ensure that you and your dog get as much from the course as all the other participants.

Can I bring two dogs?
Our classes have a maximum of 6 dogs. Each dog must be within the age range for the course and the fee is payable per dog. Dogs as guests unfortunately will not be permitted entry.

What do Woody's provide?
We will provide food which can be used as a reward during training. We will provide you with one clicker which will be yours to keep, we will provide water bowls for each dog and we will provide cleaning equipment for the inevitable doggy mishap.

What if my dog has an accident?
We will provide the cleaning equipment but would expect you to manage the clean up and take away any waste. This is a professional working canine day care facility and it is important that any mishaps are not ignored

Will my dog be perfect by the end of this course or will I need to do more?
You will get out of this training exactly what you put into it. Some dogs learn at a much faster pace than others but this does not mean that your dog is failing or that you are failing if your dog does not appear to be the 'best in the class'. Our courses equip you with the knowledge you need in order to teach your dog a particular skill. Your dog will only be fully proficient in that skill with practise and training long after training classes have finished.
